Obviously, finishing a hellish week of finals and my first semester at Duke calls for a celebratory meal.
Back in the middle of the semester a friend and I decided we missed the restaurant life back in our respective homes too much and decided to whack our wallets and try the (supposed) best that Durham has to offer - Nana's Restaurant.
We booked a date at JUNGSIK before we even made any of our other itinerary plans in Korea. That indicates more than enough about the priorities in our bucket list. Behold, two 5 course lunches worth of glorious food porn.
I'll put it out there for you: this is hardly chasing rooftops - it was just the third floor of a cafe building (hardly acrophobia inducing). But Heyri Art Village in Paju is quaint and picturesque enough that we got good enough photos without endangering ourselves for the sake of vanity (art?).
I have a few mottos when it comes to eating ("Meat is life"; "Fibre is good for you") but most get tossed out of the window in favour of carbohydrates and sugar, because there's nothing like a good stack of pancakes (or any kind of dessert, for that matter).
We took over 1000 photos that day and 99% didn't make the cut... So I made secondary cuts.
Actually, I just liked these, and figured they had a much different feel from what we were going with the official shoot, so I tossed them through some black and white filters and sat surprisingly pleased with the results. No other edits to the face or anything, so they're about as raw as they get (especially that tan line HAHA)
